There are two special situations that arise that require special ideas for self-motivation for weight loss with the Pro Ana Lifestyle, in my opinion: A) if I’m home and feel like bingeing or have already started bingeing, and B) when I’m not at home and I’m around food and/or drinks, like if I’m alone at a supermarket or with others who are eating and/or drinking. The second of these special situations will be covered in this blog entry.
The second type of special situation is when I’m not at home and I’m around food and/or drinks, like if I’m at a supermarket or around others who brought (or will order) food and/or drinks. In this situation, I’ll follow several steps. First, I’ll try to avoid this situation entirely by having food delivered by a grocery store and minimize the times that I go out with others to eat. Second, if I do go out, I’ll take a plastic fork, wrapped in a napkin, with me. Third, if I’m going to the grocery store, if I feel hungry, I’ll get and open a large plastic bowl of pre-washed, pre-cut fruit and eat that with the fork that I brought, for as long as I’m there (getting and eating another bowl if needed) and pay for those on my way out. Fourth, if I’m going to be around others who will be eating, at someone’s home for a potluck or a class/meeting where there will be food, I’ll leave extra early and, at a grocery store along the way, I’ll purchase three large bowls of fruit, a small package of small, disposable plates, and a small box of plastic forks. At the event, I’ll put one large bowl in a place where others can get it, along with the forks and plates. Next, I’ll take one plastic fork and one disposable plate, and from the two remaining large bowls of fruit that I take and have near me, I’ll find a place where I can sit and eat, open up one of my bowls of fruit, place some onto my plate, and then I’ll eat the fruit from my plate. I’ll get more fruit from there whenever I feel hungry, opening up my second personal bowl of fruit as needed. Fifth, when I can’t easily bring my own food, such as at a wedding, dinner, or similar situation where I’m expected to eat and skipping the event isn’t a reasonable option, I’ll accept, get, or order a plate with a small portion (but not dessert) and eat half of it (and not get second helpings). If someone comments to me about my eating, then I’ll just smile slightly and shrug my shoulders. If there is a second comment to me about my eating, then I’ll just smile slightly again and say: “Uhh, I don’t remember what I ate already, but I’m already full.” For additional comment(s) to me about my eating, I’ll just smile slightly in response. Sixth, if I’m offered a drink, then depending on the situation, I’ll say and do different things. If it’s not a toast where I’m expected to celebrate, I’ll say “no thanks; I’m not thirsty” with a slight smile and not take the offered drink. However, if I’m in a situation where a toast is appropriate, then I’ll accept the drink. When others drink, I’ll touch the rim of the glass or cup to my lips (but not let any liquid touch my lips), and when the toasting is concluded, I’ll place the undrunk glass or cup on a table and leave it there. If I’m offered a refill, I’ll just say: “No thanks, I still have enough.” If someone comments to me about my lack of drinking, then I’ll just smile slightly and shrug my shoulders. If there’s another comment to me about my lack of drinking, then I’ll just smile slightly again and say: “I’m not thirsty.” For additional comment(s) to me about my lack of drinking, I’ll just smile slightly in response. Seventh, following these steps can require consuming an unknown amount of calories worth of food, but I won’t concern myself with the number of calories, count that as equivalent to one meal that I would have eaten on my plan, and then I’ll resume eating on my plan as much as I can.
That’s how I stay motivated to lose weight while having a pro ana lifestyle. Overall, I think I should be able to lose the remaining weight that I want to, maintain at that new UGW, and then lose skinny fat if I’m so inclined, while staying healthy.
